Well winter has been in a bit of a reprieve this month.  After a very promising December and first week of January, we sure hope it plans on making a comeback asap! Although the lakes look nice and snow covered, they are still unsafe (especially the big ones).  With all of the precipitation we’ve had, and warm melting temperatures, there is still a lot of running water around creeks and off the shores, making shorelines hazardous to be on.  Most trails are still closed, or yellow at best.  Check here for updated information from the snowmobile club.
The Toronto Boat Show seemed fairly busy at the beginning of the week, and there are certainly lots of new toys to look at!  It wraps up this weekend so if you haven’t made the trip down to Exhibition Place yet, you still have some time left. Take a look around to see what is on the market for this summer, and as always if you have any questions or are interested in exploring new water toys, we would be happy to help you make the best decision for your boating needs.
With thinking about new water toys, it is also time to start thinking about what might need to be done to your current watercrafts to ensure they are ready to go when the spring weather hits. If you are thinking of doing any upgrades etc. please let Gord know asap and we will get you in the queue to make sure they are ready to go!
We look forward to seeing you over the next few months if you manage to escape up for a day or so to enjoy the winter that is sure to be around the corner according to the forecasts. Let’s hope the weatherman is right!

Well as you can see, the lake has a skim of ice over it now, but very little snow due to the rain and warmer temperatures over the past week.  Not a bad thing, as it will be easier for more ice to form – the lakes are NOT safe to be out on yet, and there is lots of running water, so please keep that in mind as you venture up for a weekend at the cottage.  The snowmobile trails are not in great shape either.  The groomers are trying to work on them, but they are quite icy right now.

For those of you who are already dreaming about warmer temperatures, the Boat Show is on in Toronto from January 20-29th at Exhibition Place.  If you are interested in looking for a new toy for the summer, please feel free to get in touch.  Hope to see you there!

Well where does the time go?!  We hope everyone is enjoying the holidays so far and that Santa was good to all the kids out there.  It was nice to have a white Christmas for a change!  There is a fair bit of snow on the ground and the groomers are out working on the snowmobile trails.  Hopefully it will be a better year for the sleds than last year.  The trails are not open yet,but you can check here for updates over the coming days and weeks.  Please stay off of the lakes!  Although the smaller lakes may be frozen, they are not safe!  The big lakes are still open in the middle.  Hopefully we will get some cold temperatures before too much more snow flies so we get a good freeze up.  Also, after all the freezing rain over the past 24 hours, the side roads are slippery, and private roads could be dangerous. The sanders are out working away, and hopefully a bit of snow will help driving conditions.
We are closed now for the holidays and will re-open January 2nd.

Merry Christmas and we wish everyone a happy, healthy 2017!
