Welcome to Little Gull Marina!

School’s out for summer!  To all the kids and teachers out there – congrats you made it through another year, another grade!  Now on to the celebrations…welcome to the Canada 150 weekend! We hope the weather person is wrong in their forecast but as Canadians we will persevere as always and take it anyway it is presented. We are looking forward to seeing everyone up and enjoying the summer as it officially starts.

There are some new toys in the store for anyone looking to get dragged around the lake behind a boat this year.  And speaking of boats, check out our inventory online of used boats, or talk to us about new boats as well to pull those kids around the lake, or just relax and chase the odd fish.  We can get you set up with everything you may want to enjoy a summer on the water.

We are very excited to welcome many new members to our crew this summer.  Stop by and introduce yourself to Evelyn, Kendra, Trinity, Emma & Lauren on the gas docks – they are eager to meet and get to know everyone over the coming weeks.  You’ll also see Mary around the yard as she helps keep things moving and attended to.

Starting tomorrow, we are back to summer hours, open of 8-8 every day until September Newspapers are also back to 7 days a week.

Be sure to sign up for the parasailing/flyboarding event on July 29th, swimming lessons start on Tuesday, and keep an eye out for next week’s post with more info about all the events coming up over the summer.

Only one week away from the big Canada Day 150 weekend! It is certainly going to be a very memorable event across Canada. There are a lot of activities planned in the surrounding towns so be sure to check them out. One cottager up here is celebrating Canada Day with some festive lighting. Wouldn’t it be cool to see as many cottages as possible lit up in red and white like this around the lakes? Canadian Tire has red and white string lights on sale, or you can get red bulbs for your spotlights, just for a couple of ideas.  If you decorate your cottage to celebrate Canada this weekend, we want to see it!  Send pictures to richard@littlegullmarina.ca and we will share them to show how we celebrate Canada up here in cottage country.

We are still very busy getting the boats in and as usual Mother Nature keeps us guessing. Also don’t forget the swimming lesson registrations so the kids are out and meeting new friends and learning how to be fish for the summer.

As you can see, our cubs from the fall are back and all seemed to have done well over the winter. Momma is with them as well.  A reminder to ensure that all appetizing treats, garbage etc. are kept out of reach of these “little” guys.
It has been great to see everyone up enjoying the first real taste of summer that has lasted more than 1 consecutive day:)  Hopefully everyone enjoyed the heat wave this week.  As we start to think about the summer weather, remember to get in touch with Lori regarding swimming lessons starting in a few weeks to ensure your young ones get out and meet new friends while they enjoy the lake.
We are still very busy launching all of the boats and making sure they are ready for a great 2017 season on the water. The crew here have been doing a fabulous job working tirelessly to get the toys in tip-top shape for the summer through all of the challenging weather.
